How do Jews view naps as a Shabbos activity?

An LDS church leader stated (in an official capacity) that naps were very much an approved Sabbath activity for Mormons, and I will defend that statement with my dying (or snoring) breath.

Saturday is my day of nap.

Naps are highly approved of as a Shabbos activity.

I just want to say, while my kids were growing up, we used to have "malachos bees" at the Sabbath table. A "malachah" is a category of work that is forbidden on the Sabbath, and there are 39 of them. Zedushka would name an activity, and the kids had to answer if the activity was permitted or not, and if not, what category it belonged to. We had easy questions for the little kids and more difficult questions for the older ones. And prizes! Zedushka, being a yeshiva teacher, made up this game, but now there is even a board game for kids to play on Sabbath.

The problem with kids texting (or smoking, in the olden days) or whatever, somebody told them "This is forbidden!" but can't explain the reason, or even why they would even want to observe Sabbath, and where all these rules come from. Maybe the parents don't even remember the reasons because they didn't pay attention in class.
